Set in quiet and sleepy „Eselsdorf“ in the year 1590, home to Theodor, Nikolaus and Seppi. One day a stranger appears who befriends the three youths. He reveals himself to be an angel. His name? Satan!

The Mysterious Stranger is a fascinating story of human abysses and about the moral arrogance of man, who uses his purported status as the pride of creation to justify the most atrocious deeds. It is a playful thought experiment about morality and the meaning of life, a plea for life and against the hope for some hereafter. Martina van Boxen adapts Twains posthumously released story as a gloomy fairytale for the stage. Come and see for yourself!

The mysterious stranger was invited to WESTWIND 2023, the 39th Theatertreffen for young audiences in North Rhine-Westphalia, and was awarded with the youth jury prize.
